What is that you use everyday at your office and home, but you did not own? Interesting trivia? Who wants to be a millionaire challenge questions? Nope!!! That’s for me. Yes, finally I got a new laptop. First I shortlisted my laptop’s primary purpose at my home. Basically I’m a gamer, need to have some good music and watch movies and as the name of our site says – expect the best at the low cost.

Based on the above factors, I settled for Dell Vostro and booked the Dell 1500 when it is yet to get launched in market. Dell Vostro is good in these areas – 15.4 widescreen for optimal viewing experience, good quality speakers, integrated webcam, bluetooth, nVidia GeForce card, above all far behind the price tag than its peer that offers these facilities. Vostro is of the Japanese Sumo family member – this may surprise you, but considering the above all factors this is definitely not a point to consider for rejection. Dell always surprises you – they did not inform you about the integrated 5-in-1-card reader at the time of booking.

Intel Core 2 processor 1.6 GHz is ok for the multimedia experience and booting too doesn’t make much difference. 120GB of harddisk is definitely not sufficient, but you can always have the option of upgrading this at the time of booking in the Dell website. nVidia card is the gift for the gamers like me. Forgot to mention about the Dell Media Direct feature in the laptop. It’s on the go feature, press a button and here you go --> music, video, instant office and pictures browsing directly from your laptop. Yes, I meant it directly from your hard disk without booting your machine. Comfortable keyboard / mouse pad, provision for wireless on/off switch, 4 USB ports, S-video port, Firewire port, DVD burner, and many more. Integrated webcam has LiveCam software where you can create Avatars, add live graphics to your video, face tracking, remote monitoring, and you name it, Dell Vostro 1500 has. Next time when you want to upgrade your laptop or buy a new one, definitely think about Dell products. Always watch out for the Dell deals.
